This is the page for my Skyrim playthrough for the character Kenna, half-Redguard, half-Bosmer child of bandits.
This is my third official playthrough using the Tuxborn modpack–and the first using its 1.1.1 build.
Tuxborn makes changes to the default Difficulty in Skyrim, and as such, I will run Kenna on Apprentice. This is the Tuxborn pack’s equivalent of vanilla Adept. (I may adjust the difficulty later as necessary, however.)
Kenna is the third of my Skyrim characters named after Kendis, the heroine of my book Faerie Blood.
My main goal with Kenna is going to be running the Thieves Guild in Tuxborn. And since I’ve set her up as a Redguard (albeit with RaceMenu tweaks to her appearance to allow for her being half-Bosmer), I’ll also be taking advantage of the Shehai perk provided to Redguards by the Mannaz mod, and the Jinniya of the Lamp perk provided to Redguards off the Shadow Stone, via the mod Freyr.
Kenna’s Backstory
Kenna is my first take on a Skyrim character with a less than savory background. She is the child of a Redguard mother and a Bosmer father who were in the same small group of bandits. Fairly early on in her childhood, though, her parents’ bandit group grew resentful of having a child in their number. Her mother then fled to settle in the wilderness on her own, and raise her daughter.
Her father remained with their bandit group, but their number was even smaller with her mother’s absence, and they were outclassed by bigger and better armed groups. Kenna’s father eventually tried to join the bandits at Robber’s Gorge–but they tasked him with bringing them a trophy to prove his worth to them. And his idea for how to do that was to bring them his former lover and child as chattel they could sell.
Kenna’s mother, naturally, did not take well to this. Neither did Kenna. The two of them viciously fought against Kenna’s father when he ambushed them at their camp. Kenna’s mother was killed in the fight, and Kenna herself was badly hurt as her father slashed the right side of her face.
But during that fight, something happened that neither Kenna nor her parents could have anticipated: a vague, glowing shape in the form of a sword, that proceeded to attack and kill Kenna’s father.
Badly hurt and stunned by what had just happened, Kenna rallied her strength together, and resolved to flee her mother’s campsite and get somewhere else, anywhere else, where her father’s former compatriots couldn’t reach her.
And so, she fled towards Riften.
Little did Kenna know, though, that her mother was descended from nobler blood in Hammerfell than she or her father ever knew, and that she herself would be discovering gifts that made Redguard warriors amongst the finest in all of Tamriel.
