Elder Scrolls Online,  Veghra Playthrough

In Which Veghra Tracks Down the Whereabouts of Sai Sahan

Short catchup post to cover action in early March, for my Orc character Veghra in ESO. This covers a sizable span from mid-March, but only three actual sessions’ worth of doing anything interesting, since Veghra wasn’t getting as much of my attention in March as Gyllerah and Marwyth.

Actual RP action here is Veghra pushing the ESO Main Quest a little farther along.

Play by play

  • Play dates: 3/7-3/18/2024
  • Session numbers in this run: 12-14

March 7th

  • Swapped out from running Gyllerah for a brief burst of Veghra action
  • Hit the Norvulk Ruins delve to run the quest with Tharn to find out where Sai Sahan is
  • This was in Stormhaven, and at this point I was able to wayshrine in to a nearby spot
  • Fairly typical Ayleid ruin layout for me at this point
  • Found the various seeing stones that gave clues about Sai Sahan’s location
  • Did not trigger a local quest, at least not until I got to the boss chamber and spotted a guy with a quest marker over him, Matys Derone
  • He gasped out something about taking word to his wife about what happened to him, and then died on the spot
  • I think Veghra rather blinked at that but had more immediate issues to attend to: namely, killing the nearby boss, Nariam
  • Took him out (he’s apparently a boss you can kill for an Undaunted quest, but I didn’t know that at the time)
  • But anyway, finished up with Tharn and he portaled out, leaving me to get out of the place on foot
  • Since the woman I needed to look for to bring word of the guy that died was in Wayrest, headed there
  • The woman, Augustine Derone, was surprisingly blasé about the news, but hey she gave me gold
  • Took wayshrine back to Daggerfall
  • Checked back in with Varen at the Harborage to finish up the quest
  • Told him Tharn and I had discovered where Sai Sahan was being held, and this got me up to level 31
  • Got Bera Moorsmith’s request to go see Colors again to follow up about the next phase of the Fighters Guild plot
  • This time she asked me to go to Shornhelm, and Veghra hadn’t been there yet, worked on that later

March 14th

  • Started researching a few more items crafted by Gyllerah, to fill out Veghra’s known traits faster

March 18th

  • Ran a bunch of survey reports centered in the Daggerfall Covenant areas
  • Leveled up to 32
  • Got a choice of dye stamps, and I think I remember getting these same dye stamp options as Gyllerah and Marwyth
  • Chose the cheerful looking one, but it didn’t fit any of the costumes I had available, at least not for Veghra
  • Hung onto it until later

Commentary

This is a super-short post, but I’m getting it out of the way just to clear my queue! And it’s nice to remember that not all of my posts actually have to be epic sagas. ;D

As of this writing I’ve run the “go clues on the location of Sai Sahan” quest for all four of my alts. But even as of when I did it with Veghra, I still did in fact wonder why the hell these random delves have the ever so useful seeing stones in which Mannimarco reveals his evil plans!

There was a local side quest in Norvulk Ruins as well, which I hadn’t run before. This involved finding a guy named Matys Derone near the location of the boss, and this guy apparently had been fatally wounded. Not that this was actually easy to tell, since his overall pose looked little different from other wounded characters I’ve seen in the game, characters who did not in fact die!

And there was nothing in my brief interaction with him about what exactly killed him, or why he was in the ruins, or anything of that nature. Nor was there anything immediately nearby that might have attacked him. All I got out of him was that his wife would never know what had happened to him. So of course, I got a prompt to take word to her, and agreed to do this.

Taking word to the wife required me to go back to Wayrest, since she was there. And she was surprisingly unruffled by my bringing her the word of her husband’s death! No outcry of sorrow, or even any outcry of joy about it, for that matter. She seemed very blasé about the whole thing! She must not have loved the guy very much? Arranged marriage, maybe? 🤣

Next time

Veghra’s next post will feature more Main Quest, and more Daggerfall Covenant!
