In Which Faanshi Escapes the Destruction of Helgen
Let’s get this party started, shall we? Playthrough number five begins with Faanshi of the Khajiit, and also with returning to the English build of the game!
Short session, just enough to get the initial escape from Helgen done, and get the character set up with her starting gear. Got as far as getting the objective to go to Bleak Falls Barrow.

In Which Ysani Restores the Gildergreen and Adopts a Dog
This was a lower-key session, in which I took care of several small side items, as well general building at both Lakeview and Windstad. Main things accomplished: clearing High Gate Ruins, taking out the dragon at Skyborn Altar for a bounty, and helping Danica Pure-Spring with the Gildergreen in Whiterun.
(This post is for the play session done on Wednesday 2/23. Thursday 2/24’s post will be forthcoming shortly!)

In Which Ysani Escapes the Destruction of Helgen
This is the inaugural post for my fourth Skyrim run, starring Ysani Demers, a Breton! As I’ve called out on the playthrough page I’ve set up for her, this character is intended to return to my preferred play style of sneakiness and archery. I’ll be revisiting the Thieves Guild, and aiming for an even higher focus on magic this time through. And I’ll be kicking the Difficulty level
And, most entertainingly, I will do this entire playthrough in French!

In Which Delga Regains the Rift for the Empire
I’m posting this on Sunday, but this is actually for the play session I did on Friday night. I didn’t play last night, because I was trying to charge through fixing all of my screenshot galleries so I could resume adding galleries to new posts.
And this one is another step forward in the Imperial side of the civil war plotline, wherein I help the Empire regain the Rift.

In Which Delga Becomes Thane of Falkreath and Gains Dawnbreaker and Breezehome
This was a very busy session, featuring the acquisition of Dawnbreaker and the Masque of Clavicus Vile, becoming thane in Falkreath, making significant inroads on becoming thane in Riften, and last but not least, acquiring Breezehome in Whiterun.
-
In Which Delga Goes on a Bear Hunt and Assists a Daedra’s Dog
I came into this session mostly thinking that I’d work on getting Temba Wide-Arm her bear skins, and also doing that dragon bounty in the Rift.
The way it worked out, though, I also got a boatload of quests queued up in Riften, since being there to collect the bounty meant I was able to go talk to all the Riften NPCs while they were still actually alive!
And then I went to go do the Daedra’s Best Friend quest since I had the pointer for that in Falkreath. Very busy session all around!

The Saga of Delga Begins
Herein begins the third of my Skyrim playthroughs, featuring the orc warrior Delga! My main goals with her are to play a couple of aspects of the game I haven’t pursued yet as either Alarrah or Merawen, namely:
- Joining the Companions
- Playing the Imperial side of the war
So let’s get down to it, shall we?
-
In Which a New Dragonborn Arises
Since I wasn’t in the mood to delay between my first Skyrim run ever and my next playthrough, I went ahead and fired up a brand new character last night!
Character number two is Merawen the Dunmer. And as with Alarrah’s playthrough posts, so too with Merawen’s: all highlights and details and screenshots behind the fold!

In Which the Dragonborn Beats the Drum
Twitter thread from 5/19/2021, in which Alarrah goes after Rjorn’s Drum, located at Halldir’s Cairn, for the Bard’s College.
In Which the Dragonborn Beats the Drum, as it were (cue Great Big Sea):

1. Started this run by doing another pass through the shops in Solitude, and the notable items gained from that were an Elven Helmet to help fill out the rest of my elven armor, and a Dwarven Bow.Notes
- This Twitter thread was not actually linked in on the original version of Alarrah’s page! Oops.
- This post was written on 3/18/2022, but is backdated to the date of the Twitter thread for organizational purposes.

I have become a console gamer!
Like a lot of folks during the pandemic, my housemate Paul got heavily engrossed in playing Animal Crossing. He specifically ordered himself a Nintendo Switch so that he could play it. And from all the things he was sharing about the experience of playing it, a couple weeks ago I started thinking, gosh that sounds like fun, I’d like to play it too I think.
(Lots of details behind the fold!)
This is what I had to say about that on Twitter:
