In Which Kendeshel Returns a Horn, Saves a Tree, and Adopts a Daughter

This is a three-session post, since a bunch of this action was my doing some followup with Project AHO stuff–but only because I wanted to find a certain character from that plot and get him stolen stuff. But I also saw another notable NPC from this plot back out in the world, and that has, shall we say, implications.

So some minor spoilers here for post-end of the Project AHO plot.

The rest of this action is me also getting in some standard early Skyrim playthrough stuff that I usually have done by now in a typical playthrough, but which have been postponed due to major mod action! Namely: finally returning the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller, running the Mind of Madness quest to get the Wabbajack, running The Blessings of Nature to fix the Gildergreen, and last but not least, adopting Lucia in Whiterun.

In Which Kendeshel Recovers Her Freedom

This post is the second of a series covering my playthrough of the Project AHO Skyrim mod. Spoilers major and minor abound here, so be advised before you proceed. Note also that I found at least two significant loopholes in the mod’s story structure, and I go into great depth about those here.

In general this post is one of my longer ones, so buckle in for a long read if you want to have a look.

If you want my non-spoiler take on the mod instead, you can find that in Review of Project AHO mod (non-spoiler version).

In Which Kendeshel is Kidnapped and Sold into Slavery

This Kendeshel post covers my getting Runil’s journal for him out of Sunderstone Gorge, getting the thaneship in Falkreath, starting the building of Lakeview Manor, meeting Delphine in Riverwood, and getting on the road with her to go to Kynesgrove and kill Sahloknir…

At which point the plotline for the Project AHO mod kicked in. This post will include major spoilers for that mod in particular, so please be advised. If you think you might want to run this mod but don’t want the spoilers for it, please have a look at my Review of Project AHO mod (non-spoiler version) post.

Some minor spoilers as well for Legacy of the Dragonborn. Brief mentions of actions for the Book of Wonders quest, as well as changes I noted with the progression of the storyline in general, and certain tweaks the mod makes to AE Skyrim content.

    Fic: Tense Negotiations

I’ve felt the urge to write some fic based on my Skyrim adventures before, and I’ve done some cursory dabbling at it. But even though I have mixed feelings about the Project AHO mod, as I wrote in the review post I put up a little while ago, the core idea of the story is powerful enough that my writer brain kept playing with it and trying to come up with a way to make it make narrative sense that my Dragonborn agreed to actually help the people in the plot rather than destroying them.

So here you go, y’all, the first scene I’ve written in prose in quite some time. This is 2,903 words, and is based directly upon how events played out in recent Kendeshel sessions, which I’ll be covering in a few forthcoming playthrough posts.

It’s spoilery for the end of the Project AHO plotline, so a bit of an intro, and the actual prose, behind the fold.
