Survival Mode R11 config for Tuxborn 1.2 (SunHelm settings)
This page covers my observations about how SunHelm works, and what settings I expect to use with it. This data should be applicable to both of my proposed R11 configs for running Survival Mode in Tuxborn 1.2. Starting SunHelm So far in my testing, I’ve seen that Tuxborn 1.2’s setup is completely hiding the toggle to activate Survival Mode. Also, SunHelm does not auto-launch. You have to do one of two things to turn it on: I’ve tried it both ways, and what I see so far is that if I try to do the mini-quest, SunHelm immediately turns itself off again as soon as the quest concludes. Which, y’know, not helpful. So…

Survival Mode R11 configs for Tuxborn 1.2
Tuxborn 1.2, currently available as a beta to interested players, is dropping official support for Survival Mode. Which, obviously, may be highly disappointing to Survival Mode fans! The reason we’re doing this is because we were seeing strange bugs in our configuration that our head dev, Ouroboros, does not currently have time to investigate. So for now, we’re dropping official support for it. This will mean that if you want to do a Survival Mode run in Tuxborn 1.2, you’re going to have to modify the load order (a.k.a. “Rule 11”) to include your preferred survival mods. And since I was in fact planning on trying a survival run in…

Survival Mode R11 config for Tuxborn 1.2 (Campfire version)
This proposed R11 config for Tuxborn 1.2 is to add support for Survival Mode runs. This version of the config is for using Campfire as the camping mod. For those interested in Campsite instead of Campfire, have a look at Survival mode R11 config for Tuxborn 1.2 (Campsite version) instead. Also, see Survival Mode R11 config for Tuxborn 1.2 (SunHelm settings) for my intended setup for SunHelm’s portion of this configuration. Current expected list of mods and patches First and foremost: Campfire is heavier weight than Campsite is, so as a result, there are more patches I recommend considering adding for a Campfire-based version of this setup. Here is the full list…

Recommended means of playing and modding Skyrim on macOS
If you’re a macOS user who wants to play Skyrim on your computer, this is my page of recommendations for how to go about doing it. I’ll talk about tools available to you, and my suggestions based on exactly how you’d like to play the game. Tools you’ll want to consider What you’ll need to just play Skyrim If you just want to play the game and not worry about modding it yet, then you will just need to focus on Crossover and Parallels. Here are my takes on these two tools. Crossover vs. generic Wine Crossover is a paid product, but it’s generally best in class for running Windows programs…

Tuxborn for macOS users
Tuxborn’s player base is a mix of PC players and handheld players, running either Windows or Linux. But if your primary computer is a Mac, you may be wondering if it’s possible to run Tuxborn on that platform. Answer: yes! There are two possible ways to go about this, and this guide is to cover the challenges of both of them. Terminology note: when I say “device” anywhere on this page, you can take that to mean any of the following: ‼️ Word of caution ‼️ Both processes described on this page are EXPERIMENTAL. Tuxborn does not officially support playing on a Mac, because our devs are not Mac users…

Tweaks I make to playing Tuxborn
This wiki page covers a list of various tweaks I make to Tuxborn whenever I fire up a new character in that modpack. I’m providing them here on my own site vs. putting them on Tuxborn’s official wiki, because these changes should be considered unofficial. They fall into “Rule 11” territory, where Tuxborn devs Ouroboros and Omni will not support you if anything goes wrong with modifications you choose to make to the list. However, I’ve personally used these specific changes, and am therefore willing to advise players about them. So unless I label a specific change below otherwise, direct questions about any of these to me, not to Ouro…

MCM tweaks for Tuxborn
This page covers all the MCM tweaks I do in a Tuxborn run. Putting them all on the same page, since none of them need pages of their own. Better Third Person Selection I turn on the option “Enabled in First Person”. I prefer first person, but with this option on, and partnered with the Contextual Crosshair tweaks for Tuxborn that I do, it makes it a lot easier for me to select small things on the screen, like loose coins lying around in a dungeon. Improved Alternate Conversation Camera I change three things in this mod: I do these because I find that otherwise, the hard zoom in on…

SkyHUD tweaks for Tuxborn
SkyHUD technically doesn’t have an INI file per se, but it does have a text file that basically is the same thing. I make a few changes to it because hi, I’m old AF and some of Tuxborn’s UI elements are just too damned small for my visual comfort on the Steam Deck. Here’s what I did to this file. I turn off the Dot crosshair, because see above commentary re: I need my crosshair, dammit: I set all three of these options back up to 1.0 because they are the things I find too small for easy viewing with Tuxborn’s defaults: This file lives here:

Shades of Mortality tweaks for Tuxborn
With the next release of Tuxborn we’ll be adding in some extra changes to this mod that’ll make it easier to cure its Death’s Grip debuff. But until that release happens, here’s a suggested list of changes you can consider. For the main Shades of Mortality INI file In this file, first and foremost, I set this to deactivate the option for the mod to eat your gold when you die: I set this to be a little kinder to myself and allow me to sleep anywhere to cure the debuff: And I set this to try to strike a balance between the mod giving me free passes for “death”,…
