In Which the Dragonborn Begins the Hunt for Miraak
This session saw me finishing up the hunt for the Dragon Priest masks—and commencing the hunt for the other Dragonborn, Miraak, on the island of Solstheim.
It also saw the death of my horse, slain by a snowy sabre cat on my way to the Forelhost ruin. RIP, Alarrah’s Horse! You were a very good horse. Too bad you were only level four. 😢

In Which the Dragonborn Hunts for Dragon Priests
This session was all about trying to find the remaining ones of the original set of dragon priest masks in the game, since I had five and was still lacking three. (I know there are more on Solstheim, but for purposes of this hunt, I was focusing just on the original game’s eight.)
At the same time, I also wanted more Shout words. Fortunately, I could handle both of these searches at once!

In Which the Dragonborn Foils a Conspiracy in Markarth
I decided to go ahead and do the Forsworn Conspiracy plot, as well as its immediate followup, No One Escapes Cidhna Mine.
Plus, I wanted to give Markarth a bit of a fighting chance and see whether it presented me any reasons to like it. Spoiler alert: mostly, not so much.

In Which the Dragonborn Does More Quests for the Dawnguard
Another “miscellaneous quests” type of session, a bit less low-key than the last couple, just because these quests were ones that required me to actually get into dungeons. Still though, this is part of the extended break between doing Dawnguard and doing Dragonborn!

In Which the Dragonborn Scours the Land for Ingredients
This session was another low-key one, and mostly just focused on a) practicing more with the horse and b) running around getting ingredients for the side quest for Ingun Black-Briar in Riften. But I also eventually started working on one of the side quests from the Dawnguard, as well.

In Which the Dragonborn Buys a Horse
This was a very low-key session as I was doing a bunch of side things, to take a break in between doing the Dawnguard plot and doing the Dragonborn plot. My main goals for this session were:
- Visit all my houses where I had loot stashes, and organize, sell, craft, or otherwise deal with a lot of the backlog of loot
- Visit all the towns I’m thane of and invest in any shops I hadn’t invested in yet
- Do the side quests on my queue from the college
- Visit Fort Dawnguard again and see if I could trigger the conversation to persuade Serana to cure her vampirism, and also see if I could trigger any Dawnguard side quests
- Experiment with a game feature I hadn’t played with: riding a horse!
And I did number five first, which helped out a lot with all the other goals for the night.

In Which the Dragonborn Slays Lord Harkon
This session saw the ending of the main Dawnguard plotline, which was over surprisingly quickly! So I did a few epilogue-type things afterwards, and then a bunch of general building and crafting and selling.

In Which the Dragonborn Acquires Auriel’s Bow
This post actually covers two sessions, because boy howdy is the dungeon for finding the Bow enormous.
As always, highlights and details behind the fold!

How the Dawnguard plot should have ended
I’m not actually done playing the Dawnguard plot in Skyrim yet, but I did read ahead a bit on the wiki and I know what’s coming, in regards to certain important characters I’m about to meet and the origins of the prophecy that drives the whole plot to begin with.
And I have some opinions on how this should have impacted the end of this plot. Here, have a modified version of what I posted to my Discord earlier today! Credit to Dara for helping me think of this. <3

In Which the Dragonborn Seeks Auriel’s Bow
This was a shorter session, for general Sunday night reasons (night before the work week, also not wanting to try to play Skyrim while watching Columbo). But I did get in a bit more play time last night and moved the Dawnguard plot along a little more!
Highlights and details below.
