Final Thoughts on Alarrah’s Skyrim Run
As promised in my last post, I did a final run today with Alarrah, taking care of a few loose ends. Mostly this involved doublechecking all my properties, and seeing if there was anything I really felt inclined to build or move around.
(This post is long, so it’ll have a More tag on it. Mostly no game spoilers here though!)

In Which the Dragonborn Defeats Miraak
This is the second to the last post for Alarrah’s run, because in last night’s session, she took on and defeated Miraak. Also, she discovered what was really going on at Koljborn Barrow, and made her final visits to Tel Mithryn and the Skaal village.
And then she gathered up some of the things she’d amassed in Severin Manor, and set out with Lydia and Clanky to return to Lucia in Whiterun!
(I’m calling this second to last post because I have just a couple more loose ends I want to do with this character before I officially retire her. And I want to get a couple of screenshots of her in-game stats just to record in this series of blog posts for posterity!)

In Which the Dragonborn Slays a Ghost Frost Giant
This session was pretty much “doing some loose ends before I finally take on Miraak”. The most major of these loose ends was to take on the ghost frost giant Karstaag, one of the most powerful monsters in the entire game, just to see if I could take him out. Answer: yes, but boy howdy did that take some work!
Also, I progressed the plot line for Kolbjorn Barrow, and finished the run through the Hidden Twilight Black Book.

In Which the Dragonborn Witnesses the Sacrifice of Storn Crag-Strider
Getting close to Dragonborn’s end game, here. There are still bits of Solstheim I haven’t really explored yet. But on the other hand, I’m also feeling like Alarrah is close enough to her final challenge that I’m okay if she misses the other bits of Solstheim—I can always do the other bits on my next playthrough!
In this session, the big important thing done was the final part of the Gardener of Men quest, which sets the stage for the Dragonborn to confront Miraak. And which is rather sad, too. But there’s also a side helping of clearing Kagrumez, and getting a pet Dwarven Spider following me around!

In Which the Dragonborn Tours the Ruins of Solstheim
Apparently I was not running quite as low on places to visit on Solstheim as I thought! This session let me add a couple more to the list, in addition to the ongoing slower effort of clearing Kolbjorn Barrow.

In Which the Dragonborn Clears Highpoint Tower and White Ridge Barrow
This post covers two sessions, the short one I ran on Sunday night, and Monday night’s session as well. Both of them were fairly short, so I’m pairing them up in this post.

In Which the Dragonborn Boings Between Solstheim and Markarth
This was another “range all over the place” session, and this time more literally than usual–because I had to go all the way to Markarth for a side quest to satisfy Neloth of Tel Mithryn.
But in addition to that, I also saved the blacksmith of the Skaal village, took over a tribe of rieklings, got Neloth a new steward, and also helped him start the hunt for whoever’s been sending ash spawn at his settlement.

In Which the Dragonborn Quests All Over Solstheim
This was a session pretty much all about the side quests, since Solstheim has many to choose from, and a lot of corners to explore. I wanted to make sure and get those corners checked out before I finish off the main quest!

In Which the Dragonborn Goes to Nchardak
This session saw the advancement of both the main Dragonborn plotline, and side quests as well! I’ve ranged pretty well over the southern end of the island of Solstheim with these efforts, and some up the eastern and western shores as well. Soon enough though I’m sure I’ll be heading more north.
Highlights and details behind the fold!

In Which the Dragonborn Saves the Skaal
This session was all about exploring Solstheim and beginning several side quests, in addition to moving the main Dragonborn quest line along.
And boy howdy is Solstheim weird after being used to the environment of Skyrim. But that’s a good thing!
