In Which Shenner Quests for Instruments, a Pirate Ship, and Fish
Another combo of new stuff and old stuff in this session, wherein I got the other two missing instruments for the Bards College–but also got Dead Man’s Dread, a beached pirate ship, as arguably the most unusual home I’ve acquired in Skyrim to date! And also, I tried out the new Fishing content!

In Which Shenner Joins the Bards College
This session was another mix of old and new stuff, though a bit more of the old stuff this time. Got officially inducted into the Bard’s College, which was familiar! But part of finding the lost flute for Pantea netted me a whole bunch of spells that were not. Though they do appear to be tasty!

In Which Shenner Slays Bandits and Finds a Vampire Hunter’s Weapons
Another session full of some satisfying new stuff courtesy of the AE! Mostly centered in Haafingar this time, with a side helping of venturing off to an island and being reminded that yeaaaah, going after a location called Giant’s Tooth when you’re only level 17 is not the wisest plan.
-
In Which Faanshi Recovers the Horn and Slays Sahloknir
This session was mostly about moving the main plot far enough along to reach Diplomatic Immunity–which meant recovering the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller, slaying Sahloknir to gain Delphine’s assistance, and then returning the Horn to the Greybeards. And with a side helping of beginning the Bards College quest!

In Which Delga Acquires Remaining Lost Instruments and the Hammer Volendrung
This is the post for my session on Friday the 12th, primarily featuring getting the two remaining instruments back to the Bards College, and also getting the hammer Volendrung! With a side helping of discovering that boy howdy, Cragwallow Slope is hard to run if you’re not running a stealth character. :O

In Which Delga Routs Necromancers in Hob’s Fall Cave and Bandits in Silverdrift Lair
Another side quests type session, focusing on getting the word off the Word Wall in Silverdrift Lair, and then retrieving the flute for Pantea at the Bards College.
Where, I discovered to my shock, it is actually possible for the college NPCs to have a class! :O

In Which Merawen Joins the Bard’s College, Gets Azura’s Star, and Becomes Thane of Winterhold
This was another one of those sessions where I was all over the map. Just about everything I did in this run was stuff I’d already done as Alarrah but which I enjoyed, so I wanted to do again–plus, the skill bonuses were important and I wanted to rack those up. I moved the mage college plot along a little further, ran the entire bard college plot, got Azura’s Star, and became thane of Winterhold. And oh yes, I also finally fully furnished Breezehome.
I did however also do a few new things, including trying out housecarl Rayya as a follower, running the Yngvild dungeon, and doing a thievery job in Windhelm that required me to break into the house of Brunwulf Free-Winter.

Speaking of the Low Admissions Standards for the Bards College
Brief Twitter thread from 5/21/2021, in which I have some thoughts about the Bard’s College being a disappointing play experience. Particularly if you’re a musically inclined player.
Also, speaking of the low admissions standards for the Bards College in Skyrim, I’d like to take a moment as a musically inclined person to be kind of disappointed in that.

That packed a punch ‘gainst the undead
In the name of Meridia

In Which the Dragonborn Retrieves a Lute and Quests Into Kilkreath
Twitter thread from 5/20/2021, in which Alarrah goes to Riften and battles a surprise dragon at the gates; in which she retrieves Finn’s Lute from Stony Creek Cave; and in which she goes to Kilkreath to answer the command of Meridia to cleanse her temple of a necromancer’s influence.

1. Starting off this run, I did another pass through the Solitude stores just to get my inventory cleared out and the amount of weight I was carrying down.Note
