In Which Marwyth Saves Stonefalls and Fights a Plague in Deshaan
I’m seriously behind on my ESO playthrough posts. But before I get into this one, I want to call out the recent news about a Zenimax employee, Leona Faren, having been basically railroaded into resigning after months of abuse by a transphobic manager. I am seriously pissed off about this, as I wrote in the other post.
For the time being, I am not bailing on the Elder Scrolls games I already own; they’re too important to me as a means of maintaining my mental well-being until my household can finally abandon our COVID precautions. We are not to that point yet, and we don’t know when we will be.
But I will not be giving ESO any further money, and I will also not be buying Starfield. And I’ll be monitoring the situation to see how it proceeds. Also, I will totally understand if anybody who’s been following this blog’s posts until now is even more pissed off at Zenimax than I am right now and needs to stand down from following my playthroughs.
Right? Right. So let’s talk about what Marwyth did from 6/13 to 6/19.

In Which Gyllerah Aids the Ebonheart Pact, Hermaeus Mora, and Oracles of Azura
And now, back to Gyllerah! This is a week’s worth of sessions from mid-June, in which the main action was my moving the Ebonheart Pact further along for Gyllerah’s run through Cadwell’s Silver; running the prologue quest for Necrom; and also beginning the prologue quest for Morrowind, which got me some hefty action in Stormhaven.

In Which Marwyth Moves a Bunch of Plots Along
This set of sessions are a mixed bag! Did a little of everything, moving the plots along not only for the main quest, but also the Thieves, Mages, and Fighters Guilds. Plus, side helpings of crafting, writ running, and robbing of the ships in Daggerfall!
And also, finding Billy Boyd’s character in the game finally, which was a delightful surprise. <3

In Which Marwyth Joins Some Guilds, Picks Some Pockets, and Robs Some Ships
A bunch of my ESO posts lately have been gigantic, since I’ve been jamming a bunch of days into them. But with this new alt of mine I’m pulling that back some, just because there’s been a lot of stuff to cover, and I’d be writing clear into next month if I tried to cover it all in one post.
So here’s one where the major highlight was joining the Thieves Guild!

In Which Tembriel Sees Some Men About a Stronghold
Hey, remember that Morrowind playthrough I still have in progress? It’s been a while! Let’s go see what Tembriel’s doing, shall we? Main action in this post: following up on getting the necessary paperwork to build myself a Hlaalu stronghold, and then heading off to Gnaar Mok to position myself for the next major plot point in the game’s main quest.

In Which Gyllerah Saves the King of Daggerfall
A lot of festival-related activity in these sessions, as most of this play was during the Jester’s Festival. But it also saw the beginning of the Anniversary Event for 2023 as well!
Also, I’ve started making progress with Master Writs, and practicing learning how to use a Restoration Staff, with an eventual goal of being a better healer/support type person for group scenarios.
Last but not least, stumbled into a plot that let me save Casimir, the King of Daggerfall, from assassins! And all because of a dog named Giblets.

In Which Gyllerah Returns to Morrowind and Fights a Dark Anchor
I was slightly mistaken about how much solo running I’d be doing early in the week, because Paul expressed interest in hitting a delve in Morrowind! So I boinged back there with him, so we could run our first delve on Vvardenfell. And I got in some additional treasure and artifact hunting, as well.
And then I took another stab at Morrowind, this time in mainland Stonefalls, and got an opportunity to run my first Dark Anchor. Exciting!

In Which Tembriel Gains Traction in House Hlaalu
This session was a direct followup to the events of the previous. Got the ebony mine plot dealt with, and also have acquired a Daedric katana, which is a significant bump up from the Iron Sparksword I’ve been carrying! And I’ve gotten a sponsor in House Hlaalu… yay? But Odirniran is still a real problem I won’t be able to solve yet, I think.

In Which Tembriel Has Trouble in Odirniran and Ebonheart
This was one of my more challenging sessions of Morrowind to date. Started trying to run the Odirniran quest for House Hlaalu, only to discover exactly why Greater Bonewalkers are a goddamn problem. So there was a lot of retreating being the better part of valor here, and eventual fallback to trying to finish off a different plot entirely!
