Elessir Playthrough,  Skyrim

In Which Elessir Clears Shriekwind Bastion

Catchup post for my Elessir playthrough in Skyrim, from late August. This is a very short one, just getting this posted to get it out of my queue.

Play by play

  • Play date: 8/25/2024
  • Session number in this run: 50
  • Short session, really; picked up just outside Lakeview
  • Hoofed it with Serana and Lucien over to run Shriekwind Bastion
  • Killed some wolves on the way, just outside Lakeview
  • Heard a dragon, saw a Revered Dragon flying overhead, but it turned out to be a flyby
  • Saw hunter on horse riding past us on the road, going the other way
  • Ran the place with pretty much no problems
  • Looted dead Bandit Plunderer, who Serana then raised, LOL
  • Whirlwind Sprinted to get through the fire traps on the way to the vampire
  • Nightmaster Vampire was not a problem, between my heavily enchanted gear, Serana, Lucien, and the summoned daedroth I threw in his face
  • Got a Speech bump reading the skill book near where I killed him
  • Got the Word of Power for Elemental Fury off the wall
  • Came out onto the overlook way overloaded, so used Become Ethereal to jump down off the overlook
  • Then climbed my way down into Falkreath, where Serana and Lucien caught up with me (not sure how they got down there, if they jumped, or cut back through Shriekwind Bastion)
  • Sold a fuckload of things to Lod the blacksmith, which got me back down under carry weight
  • Boinged back to Lakeview for more smithing work
  • Leveled up to 69; took Stamina bump and took Arcane Blacksmith perk so I could improve magical gear again
  • Came back out of Lakeview and saw the husky puppy
  • Boinged next to Whiterun and sold a bunch of stuff
  • Then boinged to Markarth to sell more stuff, thinking at the time that I’d be heading over to run Arkngthamz for Lost to the Ages (even though I changed my mind on that)
  • Took a snooze in Vlindrel Hall
  • Sold a bunch of things to Endon, Lisbet, Ghorza, and Moth the next morning
  • Also invested in Moth’s forge
  • Next stop: College of Winterhold
  • Sold stuff mostly to Enthir, but a few other things to trainers as I could
  • Came in during training session in the Hall of the Elements
  • Hung out next to Faralda since Destruction was one of the few magic skills I still needed to work on
  • Bought five rounds of Destruction training from her
  • Discovered I could not put the Dragon Elder Scroll in the Arch-Mage’s secret room; kept getting a message that I still needed it for quests
  • So oh-well’d and sold the scroll to Urag, which still kept it in the college!
  • Next stop: Bloodchill Cavern, where I dropped off the draw knife and the original armor from the Thieves Guild
  • Returned to Lakeview then until next time

Commentary

Not too much new to comment on in this post, so it’ll mostly be short.

I did want to note though that I did continue to see the two puppies periodically showing up when I fast traveled, through the end of Elessir’s playthrough. I did not, however, ever find out if they were adoptable by a child. I kept hoping maybe Lucia would see one and go PUPPY, but I never did!

Still not entirely sure what mod put the puppies in, either. My money’s still on Dawn of Skyrim for that, but I haven’t been able to find a definitive feature list for that mod, so I still don’t know for sure.

Notable Lucien lines

Lucien has his priorities straight when it comes to learning about ancient history, versus living it:

As fascinating as the Ancient Nords are to study, I wouldn’t have wanted to be there at the time.

Next time

Elessir’s next post will feature actually making it to Arkngthamz! And also Raldbthar! And the Aetherium Forge!
