Harrowhark Screenshots Here are my screenshots for the playthrough for Harrowhark of the Imperials! I cannot paginate these, so apologies for the length of this album list. « back to albumHarrowhark Sessions 28-29 Another Good Inigo LineInigo has more commentary about my absorbing a dragon soul, LOL. This was just after we took out the dragon at Fort Greymoor.Herd of Wild Horses 1WILD HORSES! <3 Pretty sure this was added in courtesy of the Realistic Animals and Predators mod. And it was beautiful to just see the horses wandering around.Herd of Wild Horses 2More wild horses, this time with Lucien, my own horse Hjalte, and me in the shot as well for scale.MadwomanThis is the same madwoman who wants you to smack her with the Wabbajack, only this time I found her prior to actually running that plot, so she dropped hints about Dervenin and Sheogorath instead.CassiaThis is me finding Cassia at the entrance to the Forgotten City, and initiating the intro conversation where I get her backstory and find out why she asked for me to come.Mysterious Dwemer Architectural ThingieNot at all sure what this was, but I think it was right by the shaft I had to jump down to get into the Forgotten City? Maybe it was part of the lift that was no longer working?Immobile CenturionFound a whole bunch of immobile Dwarven Centurions like this one, during my initial phase of exploring the Forgotten City, prior to initiating the time loop. Boy howdy were they plot relevant! An Old Man's SuicideSpotted a dead body falling out of this very forlorn looking tree, in what used to be a city square.Closeup on the Old ManHere's the Cloaks of Skyrim mod showing up, because this old man is in fact wearing a cloak with the Imperial sigil. Gosh, could this be Cassia's brother Altrius...? But what's he doing old? And what the hell happened?Door to the LakehouseAltrius' ghost warned me the hell away from this creepy-looking lakehouse. But, as I am in fact the player character, of course I'm going over there!Letter from the PastJarl Metellus left this dire note begging the reader to go through the portal and fix the thing that caused unholy havoc to rain down upon this place!Stepping Into the PastCame back out of the lakehouse to find this, the city in its prior state, well-lit and with living, more or less thriving inhabitants.A Now Less Creepy LakeAnd now I can actually see the lake, and the buildings around it.Gulvar Gives Me a TourGulvar, the first NPC I met coming out of the lakehouse, offers to take me up to the Jarl to see him. And while doing so, he gives me a tour of what I'm looking at. In this particular line of dialogue, he mentions the source of the city's light, the Sun Under the Ground.Rastasia Apparently Likes MeRastasia, local flirtatious sexpot, invites me to come to her tavern. After, I might add, referring to me as 'strapping' when she asks Gulvar to introduce us.HjormundThis guy was shitty to Gulvar and made him return to working on the crops, and took me the rest of the way to go see the Jarl. My dude, if you're that concerned about making sure everybody has food, howsabout you get your ass out there and help out Gulvar, hmm? Because yes, you totally sounded like an asshole. The Jarl's QuartersA look at the Jarl's quarters, in their pre-catastrophe state. Not a bad little suite if you like Dwemer-style architecture. Though I'm still not a fan of the idea of stone beds!Door Out to the BalconyI'm pretty sure this door was the one I went through prior to the time loop, and where I found the key to the lakehouse that Altrius had hidden. Once I was in the loop, though, I found Jarl Metellus out there waiting.Jarl MetellusAnd here's the Jarl himself, who startled the hell out of me by sounding a lot like Patrick Stewart. For the record, he wasn't, I looked it up! Also, this guy took it surprisingly well when I told him he had sent me back from the future to correct an unspeakable atrocity. Damn good thing I had a letter in his own handwriting by way of proof.Sato the GuardFor a guy who in theory got fried by a flame atronach and lost both his ears and an eye, Sato's ears look surprisingly intact? But I guess the mod team didn't have the ability to make this guy actually look like someone who'd been fried by a flame atronach. Interesting little detail that he was totally deaf, though, and therefore not a good source of information. So mostly, this guy seemed like a background character.DwemoraThis woman, apparently the Jarl's adopted daughter, was super resentful about being cooped up inside the Citadel. Given that this city is just not that frigging big, what was the point of confining her? Particularly given that she's lounging around in scanty clothing? This doesn't exactly speak well of the Jarl. (And I'll leave aside how I kept misreading her name as Dremora.)GaiaGaia, Brol's assistant, tells me about herself.SafiraSafira, a former resident of Markarth's Warrens, begins to tell me her story--which leads into her warning me about Domitus.JesholThis old woman keeps things clean, and is apparently a devout worshipper of Mara.DomitusSafira was right; this guy is an asshole.MirandaNow I'm in the second time loop round--and I've just saved the city from being attacked by looters. Miranda is very grateful!A Much Nicer SquareThis little square where the merchants have their stores is much nicer when well lit. And when not having dead bodies falling out of the branches of that tree. (Observant players may note that this tree rather looks like the Gildergreen in Whiterun.)Lost RingHabiq has lost a ring, and left this reward notice lying around for folks to read.Brandas' WillA dying Vigilant of Stendarr urges whoever finds his will to take his boots and try to clear out the evil underneath the city. Well, that sure sounds like something that needs investigation!BrandasAnd here's the dying Vigilant in question. Yep, those sure do look like radiation burns on his face. The city's residents do not appear to include a healer, or even an alchemist. So this poor guy was pretty doomed. I came in packing some pretty decent Restoration oomph, but pretty sure the mod wasn't going to allow me to save this guy's life? It seemed like a situation of him being scripted to die.VitusThis guy, who was a military engineer working for the Legion before he wound up in the city, was not impressed when I told him I wasn't taking a side in Skyrim's civil war. But he was at least willing to be persuaded that we should set that aside down in the city. And he gave me a plot detail I didn't have a chance to follow up on: the idea that the Citadel might be haunted, because he kept hearing a woman sobbing at night.Rykas 1This was one of the more civil exchanges I had with Rykas, a warrior who was clearly chomping at the bit to get in some fighting action in an environment that was expressly keeping him or anybody else from doing any fighting. This shot also gives a good look at his Immaculate Dwarven Armor, which he flat out refused to give up even though I offered to buy it off of him.Rastasia Really Likes MeCan't tell if it's because she digs lanky Imperial vampire chicks, or if she's just that eager to expand her pool of available partners. 😉HabiqI did offer to help Habiq find his missing ring, after chatting with him about the situation. Little sad I didn't get to solve that little side plot. Also noteworthy here: Habiq's wearing the nicer version of the Alik'r outfit brought into this playthrough by the Armor and Clothing Extension mod.BrolHere's the local Dwemer lore expert I had to question to get more leads on how to resolve the time loop. He was clearly humoring me for the sake of discussion. But he was also full of useful information!VernonBig muscular dude with a surprisingly well-kept beard? I am shocked, SHOCKED I SAY, that this guy is queer. (Sadly, less shocked that his backstory involved Windhelm not really being the best environment for somebody of alternative sexuality.)Maisi's LetterFound this letter in Ulrin's quarters when searching for additional clues.Another Shot of the TreeHere's another shot of the tree in the square, from a different angle. It's really one of the nicer bits of this entire area.UlrinHere's the aforementioned Ulrin, who has no earthly idea what happened to his wife and who's really kind of tired of having to explain that to everybody.Rykas 2Somebody is EXTREMELY flustered when I threaten to make him Vernon's pleasure thrall. I smell a distinct whiff of denial in this air.AsanshiThis plot tried to nudge me in the direction of getting skooma to give to this woman, but no, goddammit, I was not going to give a recovering skooma junkie a fresh hit. I may be a vampire and thief and budding assassin, but c'mon, plot, I have some standards!MariusWhen I call him out for being the missing Quintus, and therefore a rogue member of the Dark Brotherhood, Marius has some OPINIONS about that. Also: I think he's wearing Mourner's Clothes, which arguably gives him a rather appropriate aesthetic, as a rogue assassin!Higher View of the City 1Came out of the Abandoned Palace on a much higher ledge, which gave me this spectacular view of the city.Higher View of the City 2Following that beam up light upwards shows the Sun Under the Ground, the great cavern's light source. I'm pretty sure that looks very similar to the overhead structure I've seen in Blackreach?DeglundThis merchant got a little bit turned around position-wise while chatting with me, and wound up standing on his chair while I paid him 1,000 gold for an Elixir of Acrobatics. Which I feel like I'd have liked to know about before I ran the Abandoned Palace. ;PHjormundMy dude, I'm rather less concerned about Gulvar's temper and more about how you're continuing to be kind of an abusive dick, as their so-called supervisor.Gulvar's StoryGulvar begins telling me his extensive sad story about losing his family and farm to bandits, and how that led him to being in the Forgotten City... and also fueled his bitterness at those who would exploit the labor of others for their own gain. This man was not happy with the Jarl. But he at least also had the foresight to ruefully ask me to keep that to myself, because he knew how it sounded to admit it.Reporting Back to the JarlI was not terribly happy about choosing Rykas as my suspect when talking to the Jarl again, in no small part because I was pretty sure Rykas was not actually the real suspect. But I also knew I had to kill Rykas to get his armor.Immaculate Dwarven Armor AchievedI am still really not a fan of the Dwarven armor aesthetic. Though I will admit, this does look rather nicer than the standard Dwarven armor in the game.Calling Out the Arbiter On His BullshitInsert a recording of Captain Kirk going 'And what is the penalty for murder?' here. Like M5, the Arbiter did wind up destroying himself.Altrius, Young AgainThe timne loop has been broken! And here's Cassia's brother at his proper age.Aw Gosh They Made Me a Statue?Wait, after all a Dragonborn does all over Skyrim, this is the first thing that actually results in somebody erecting a statue in the Dovahkiin's honor? 😉 Why the hell don't I get a statue for saving the world from Alduin, HMMM? (That said: aw gosh, people of Forgotten City, yer makin' me blush. Which is a feat, given that I am a vampire and pale as fuck.)The Plaque That Goes With the StatueI wonder if I could have activated my pointer on the Steam Deck to hover over this plaque? Because I'm real curious what this actually says.Jarl GulvarOh good, Gulvar got a promotion. <3 Let's hope this guy will be a much better Jarl than the last one. And hey, if the people of the city actually specifically chose him to be Jarl, does that make him democratically elected? What a wacky idea!A Very Grateful CassiaCassia was very happy that I brought her brother back to her, and she handed me a Talisman of the Silver Tongue. Which had an enchantment on it to boost my Speechcraft and let me sell stolen goods to merchants. Which seems like a real interesting quest reward for a plot that went out of its way to emphasize the necessity of moral choices, lololololol.A Message From the DeveloperAnd ah, the developer got in a final word to the player when the plot was concluded!Team Dragonborn Returns to LakeviewWent back to Lakeview Manor at the end of it all, and confirmed that yes indeed, both my followers and Inigo's horse safely traveled with me. Which seemed like a thing I should doublecheck, given that the plot was supposed to have been run solo and I got unpredictable behavior with having two custom followers from mods! Prev 1of57 Next
