In Which Merawen Quests Through Falkreath and the Reach
Short-ish session, without any particular goal in mind other than general adventuring! Most notable things I did were taking out a trio of Thalmor who had an execution order against me, and visiting a haunted inn!

In Which Merawen Aids a Treasure-Seeker and the Largashbur Orc Stronghold
This was a big crunchy session, with three main overall things I did: running the Angarvunde dungeon, doing the Cursed Tribe Daedric quest, and finally properly clearing Arcwind Point.
Killed not one, not two, but three Revered Dragons. Fortunately not all at once. And now I have a very, very large hammer. As well as an increased appreciation for using magic both offensively and defensively!

In Which Merawen Has a Way Livelier Night Than Anticipated
I was in the mood for a low-key and frivolous session, now that I’m between doing Dragonborn and finishing up the main quest. So for this session, I mostly boinged around a lot between various places, moving resources around, buying more resources, and working on building Windstad Minor.
But I also did one of the most frivolous Daedric quests in the game: A Night to Remember, which features the Daedric prince of debauchery, Sanguine!

In Which Merawen Tells Sapphire About Her Father, and Slays a Dragon in Solitude
This session turned out to be focused entirely on a jaunt back to Skyrim proper. I’d gone over intending to do a circuit of all the houses and sell things, but a couple of surprises turned up!
Not the least of which was my very first incident of having to fight a dragon right inside Solitude.

In Which Merawen Hunts Still More Vampires for the Dawnguard
This was another session all about the Dawnguard side quests, because I had to chug through a few more to finally get to the last one I wanted to do! With the obligatory side helpings of confronting dragons and bandits, and this time also Thalmor. And more building work on Heljarchen Hall as well.
Plus, Gregor the housecarl is now properly outfitted with his own suit of dragonplate armor, as well as dragonbone weapons. You work for the Dragonborn, you will be outfitted correctly!
Also, this post contains considerable saltiness about the Hide and Seek quest, since I got another round of that. And today’s favorite Skyrim bug: trying to rescue a kidnap victim from vampires, only to discover the kidnap victim has buggered off for home all by herself!

In Which Merawen Saves a Moth Priest, Hunts a Disguised Vampire, and Gathers Jazbay Grapes
I’m well and thoroughly into the Dawnguard content at this point, with a lot more mileage to that entire plotline than I got with Alarrah. Because this time through, I’m trying out more of the Dawnguard side plots, too!
So while I moved the main Dawnguard plot along some in this session, I spent most of the rest of it on side quests.

In Which Merawen Commits Thievery But Also Buys the Land for Lakeview Manor
This session was all about the Thieves Guild action, as my light-fingered Dragonborn pulled off thievery action in Whiterun, Solitude, and Riften—and treaded very carefully when asked to steal a horse from the family lodge of none other than Maven Black-Briar.

In Which Merawen Joins the Bard’s College, Gets Azura’s Star, and Becomes Thane of Winterhold
This was another one of those sessions where I was all over the map. Just about everything I did in this run was stuff I’d already done as Alarrah but which I enjoyed, so I wanted to do again–plus, the skill bonuses were important and I wanted to rack those up. I moved the mage college plot along a little further, ran the entire bard college plot, got Azura’s Star, and became thane of Winterhold. And oh yes, I also finally fully furnished Breezehome.
I did however also do a few new things, including trying out housecarl Rayya as a follower, running the Yngvild dungeon, and doing a thievery job in Windhelm that required me to break into the house of Brunwulf Free-Winter.

In Which Merawen Becomes Thane of Falkreath and Investigates for the Guild
This was a very eventful session, as I got some important side things done and moved the main Thieves Guild plot a little further along!

In Which Merawen Joins the Dawnguard and Seeks Azura’s Star
Anybody reading my recent updates and going “gee Anna, you’re sure bouncing Merawen around through the various major faction plotlines” is absolutely correct. Because I am!
Part of this has to do with my previous commentary re: a) wanting to re-do the big plotlines that I had fun with before, and b) wanting to see if I can run Dawnguard and Dragonborn before I finally go for Alduin. But a new wrinkle in this is also that I’ve been running Merawen with the difficulty kicked up another notch, from “Novice” to “Apprentice”. Earlier in her run this wasn’t having a significant impact, but now that I’m up to level 30 I think I’m starting to feel it.
Hence, bouncing around through various plotlines, trying to see which ones I can finish, and which ones provide me the means to move other ones along.
More specific details, as always, behind the fold!
