In Which Marwyth Saves Mournhold and Helps a Dremora
Swinging back now to clear more of my ESO play action out of the backlog. Here’s about a week’s worth of action with Marwyth the thief, featuring helping her fellow thief Quen learn more about her background, fighting the Maulborn in Obsidian Gorge and Mournhold, coming to the attention of Almalexia (yikes), and helping the dremora Lyranth fight against the cultists of the Waking Flame.

In Which Marwyth Saves Stonefalls and Fights a Plague in Deshaan
I’m seriously behind on my ESO playthrough posts. But before I get into this one, I want to call out the recent news about a Zenimax employee, Leona Faren, having been basically railroaded into resigning after months of abuse by a transphobic manager. I am seriously pissed off about this, as I wrote in the other post.
For the time being, I am not bailing on the Elder Scrolls games I already own; they’re too important to me as a means of maintaining my mental well-being until my household can finally abandon our COVID precautions. We are not to that point yet, and we don’t know when we will be.
But I will not be giving ESO any further money, and I will also not be buying Starfield. And I’ll be monitoring the situation to see how it proceeds. Also, I will totally understand if anybody who’s been following this blog’s posts until now is even more pissed off at Zenimax than I am right now and needs to stand down from following my playthroughs.
Right? Right. So let’s talk about what Marwyth did from 6/13 to 6/19.

In Which Gyllerah Aids the Ebonheart Pact, Hermaeus Mora, and Oracles of Azura
And now, back to Gyllerah! This is a week’s worth of sessions from mid-June, in which the main action was my moving the Ebonheart Pact further along for Gyllerah’s run through Cadwell’s Silver; running the prologue quest for Necrom; and also beginning the prologue quest for Morrowind, which got me some hefty action in Stormhaven.

In Which Marwyth Moves a Bunch of Plots Along
This set of sessions are a mixed bag! Did a little of everything, moving the plots along not only for the main quest, but also the Thieves, Mages, and Fighters Guilds. Plus, side helpings of crafting, writ running, and robbing of the ships in Daggerfall!
And also, finding Billy Boyd’s character in the game finally, which was a delightful surprise. <3

In Which Marwyth Joins Some Guilds, Picks Some Pockets, and Robs Some Ships
A bunch of my ESO posts lately have been gigantic, since I’ve been jamming a bunch of days into them. But with this new alt of mine I’m pulling that back some, just because there’s been a lot of stuff to cover, and I’d be writing clear into next month if I tried to cover it all in one post.
So here’s one where the major highlight was joining the Thieves Guild!

In Which Gyllerah Vanquishes Molag Bal
By definition every single one of my posts on this blog is full of spoilers, but this one more so than most, since it features the end of the main plot of ESO. If you’re an ESO player, and you don’t want to know specifics of how the main plot ends, you might hold this post until later.
But if you don’t mind that part, then read on! Because yeah, this post’s main action is Gyllerah finishing up the game’s main quest in Coldharbour, and defeating Molag Bal.

In Which Marwyth Becomes a Vestige
Here, have a big drop of sessions for my ESO alt! Here’s five whole sessions at once with Marwyth, in which I did more action in Stonefalls; ran the opening act of the main quest in Coldharbour; and also did a side jaunt off with Gwendis of House Ravenwatch. And also, I started picking up on which things you can share between characters if you have multiple characters in ESO, and which things you cannot!

In Which Gyllerah Quests All Over Coldharbour
Time for Gyllerah catchup! A bunch of Coldharbour-based adventuring in this one, as well as the aftermath of breaking Gyllerah’s armory station builds again, as I lamented before. And I ran into two notable recurring NPCs, the dremora Lyranth, and the hapless servant Stibbons.
Plus, now that I have an alt, it’s amusing to think about a narrative explanation for why they’re sharing the same house but never seeing each other!

In Which Marwyth Lands on Bleakrock Isle
I’d been meaning to fire up another alt in Elder Scrolls Online, and as of this post, I’m finally doing it! Welcome to the start of the adventures of Marwyth of the Dunmer, my second ESO alt.

In Which Gyllerah Has Another Reset
Followup on my earlier post lamenting breaking my Default build for my ESO character–because, as I expect any ESO player with an Armory Station can sympathize with, it happened again. This time to my Healer build.
Which was incredibly fucking frustrating, because I’d been getting such great help from my Guild about recommendations for how to set up to be as helpful a healer as possible for running trials.
So, I had to go to the trouble to fix everything again. This time, though, I took some steps to recover from this for the inevitable next time I screw up which build I’m pointing at in the Armory Station.
