In Which Harrowhark Becomes a Thief–and a Vampire

This was a huge eventful session, in which I did a great deal of things initially in an attempt to get Vilja killed off. But she kept doggedly holding her own in battle! So i finally punted to a backup plan, which resulted in the dismissal of all of Harrow’s followers–but also in her becoming infected with Sanguinare Vampiris, and fleeing her party’s company rather than risk endangering them. So now she’s run off to join the Thieves Guild in Riften…

But her disease has run its course. And now she’s a vampire.

This post is enormous, since a lot of things happened in it. You may want to grab a snack or a drink before you settle in with this one!

In Which Harrowhark Gains a Sapling and a New Companion

This was a long, busy session in which quite a bit happened: going to Falkreath and getting in good with the Jarl by killing a bandit chieftain for him; clearing out zombies at a ritual site; getting Nettlebane, and then later, acquiring a sapling to replace the ailing Gildergreen; finishing out the furnishing of Breezehome; getting Vilja some help with her mysterious bottle; and last but not least, picking up a new follower, Lucien!

This is a big post with a lot of commentary and a lot of screenshots. Because not only did I find Lucien and try him out as a follower, I also actively decided against keeping Vilja, because she annoys the fuck out of me.

In Which Harrowhark Gets Some Houses

This session picks up immediately where the last one left off, partway through Shroud Hearth Barrow. Action also featured: running Redoran’s Retreat to retrieve Amren’s sword, doing the In My Time of Need plot, getting silver armor for Lydia, getting the Hedge Mage Armor for me, and last but not least, acquiring both Hendraheim and Breezehome.

In Which Harrowhark Goes to Shroud Hearth Barrow

And, back around to the modded playthrough, starring Harrowhark the Imperial! Main action in this session: heading off to Ivarstead and beginning a run through Shroud Hearth Barrow, accompanied by Lydia and Vilja.

This post is more commentary than action, though. Mostly about the in-character ramifications of a particular conversation between Vilja and Lydia, and also my dissatisfaction with how Vilja seems way, way too preoccupied with her weight for a character who’s supposed to be a Nord.

In Which Harrowhark Helps Vilja Find a Bottle

This is a double session post! I would split these up into individual posts–except that a good part of the first session had to get retconned due to very strange aggressive behavior from Lydia! So I redid a lot of that content in the session after, and I’m bundling the two together in this post.

Got a whole lot of quests started, and most notably of the bunch: I have now met Vilja, since I’m running her follower mod! Lots of commentary on her and everything else behind the fold.

In Which Harrowhark Explores Whiterun and Mod Problems

This is a somewhat short-ish post and doesn’t have much in the way of actual action, since it was mostly all about my exploring Whiterun and the area right around it, to check out the changes introduced by mods. And I wanted to put this into its own post, since I do have a lot of commentary about the Anna NPCs mod, which I reluctantly decided to delete. And I didn’t want this to be in the same post with action in the posts immediately to come!

In Which Harrowhark is Revealed as Dragonborn

Harrow’s second session is still holding pretty well to my usual startup of a Skyrim playthrough, just for the sake of getting through the parts that are absolutely required to get a game going. So in this session, I finished Bleak Falls Barrow, returned to Whiterun, killed Mirmulnir at the Western Watchtower, and was made thane of Whiterun.

Also, observed a lot of things that were a result of the mods!

In Which Harrowhark Escapes Execution and Dragonfire

Welcome to the very first official post for Harrowhark the Imperial’s run through Skyrim! This is my seventh official Skyrim playthrough, and it’s my first using more than just the USSEP for mods. I’m using 75 total mods in this playthrough, and so commentary for it will include a lot of observation about what the mods do to the world in general.

This will also be a playthrough in which I’ll be targeting playing as a vampire, a necromancer, and a member of the Dark Brotherhood.

    Let’s get started, shall we?
