Next playthrough plan: Tuxborn modpack!
I've found the load order I'm going to use for my next playthrough: Tuxborn, a Wabbajack modpack designed specifically for the Steam Deck! Here's a writeup of my tests of installing it, including a bunch of screenshots!

In which Kendeshel participates in a fishing contest in Morthal, with unexpected results; does favors for the people of Morthal, and is named thane of Hjaalmarch; acquires Valdimar as her latest housecarl, and Windstad Manor; begins work on a dwarven planetarium; is inducted into the Circle of the Companions; and joins Aela to avenge the death of Skjor at Gallows Rock.

In Which Kendeshel Quests at Arcwind Point
In which Kendeshel recovers a lost explorer's key from Greywater Grotto; raids a cultist camp, and gets intel that leads her to Arcwind Point; slays a dragon at Autumnwatch Tower on the way; slays another dragon at Arcwind, along with hostile draugr; and quests into Varlais Cavern to try to put a stop to what the Dagon cultists had been up to.
