Experiment: Trying to run Gate to Sovngarde
I was very intrigued by a huge Nexus Mods collection called Gate to Sovngarde, which has over 1,000 mods in it and does a major overhaul of how Skyrim works. However, nothing I have to game on is currently capable of fully running it! This is a writeup of my experiments with this, and includes a few screenshots taken while trying it on the Steam Deck.

In Which Elessir Seeks Azura’s Star and Joins the Thieves Guild
In which Elessir is tasked by Azura to restore her broken Star, and recovers it from Ilinalta's Deep; slays the bandit Tyra Blood-Fire, after she challenges him; clears a mine of a spider infestation; joins the Thieves Guild in Riften, but with less extortion than they ask him for; recovers the Headman's Cleaver from Lost Knife Hideout, and a Khajiit's amulet from Treva's Watch; and clears out a skooma den on behalf of Riften.

Some Final Thoughts on Running Project AHO

Obviously, this contains major spoilers for Project AHO, so read with caution if you think you might want to try this mod in a future Skyrim playthrough.

In which Kendeshel pries secrets out of the depths of Bkhalzarf; joins the Bards College in Solitude; investigates the Pelagius Wing in the Blue Palace and winds up with the Wabbajack; returns the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller to the Greybeards; quests through a barrow along with a young treasure hunter and her Argonian friend; discovers a VERY interesting codex; helps Danica Pure-Spring with the Gildergreen in Whiterun; and adopts young Lucia, so that she can live in Breezehome and take care of Meeko.

Fic: Repentance and Resolve
The ending of the Project AHO mod, for all its frustrations, has actually sparked off _another_ scene in my head--because I ran into a significant character from the mod, yet again, even though that plot is now over. My Dragonborn had some OPINIONS on that, and this scene is now my headcanon for how that conversation went.

In Which Kendeshel is Kidnapped and Sold into Slavery
In which Kendeshel retrieves a lost journal in Sunderstone Gorge; becomes thane in Falkreath; acquires land and begins the building of Lakeview Manor; follows the trail of clues in a journal to visit a runestone and a shrine; meets the mysterious figure who stole the Horn of Jurgen Windcaller, and agrees to travel to Kynesgrove with her to slay a dragon; and last but not least, has all her plans upended when she is captured by slavers and dragged off to a secret Dunmer settlement beneath Skyrim, where she is sold to a Telvanni wizard.
