• Elder Scrolls Online,  Gyllerah Playthrough

In Which Gyllerah Discovers the Infinite Archive

The second week of January was pretty eventful for Gyllerah. So this is the first of two posts to cover that week, in the interests of trying to keep the post length down! (But no promises. Y’all know how verbose I can get!)

Main action here: exploring the Infinite Archive, and by extension more of Apocrypha; doing a bunch of work to level up both Ember and Mirri as Companions; and some fun action in the Rift, including a bit of accidentally doing parts of its zone quest out of order. As Gyllerah tends to do.

  • Elessir Playthrough,  Skyrim

In Which Elessir Speaks to the Greybeards and Cleanses Meridia’s Temple

Four sessions covered in this one, this is a big post!

Lots of early playthrough action for Elessir’s run, with the main highlights being running the In My Time of Need plot (in favor of Kematu); acquiring the Bow of Shadows; acquiring and furnishing Breezehome; going to High Hrothgar and speaking to the Greybeards; running Shroud Hearth Barrow; picking up Lucien as my second follower; investigating the zombie ritual site (and triggering the subsequent random zombie hordes); acquiring Hendraheim; running the Daedra’s Best Friend plot; and last but certainly not least, running Kilkreath Temple to get Dawnbreaker.

  • Finds-The-Way Playthrough,  Skyrim

In Which Finds-The-Way Becomes Thane of Falkreath

And now to check in with my Argonian Finds-The-Way, and her Skyrim playthrough in German, where every noun is longer. Especially the ones involving gauntlets.

Main action: running the In My Time of Need plot, in favor of Kematu; getting the Silver Armor for Lydia, and later replacing it with the Daedric Plate; furnishing the rest of Breezehome; going to High Hrothgar to speak to the Greybeards; fighting my first Dragonborn cultists; running Shroud Hearth Barrow; beginning the Daedra’s Best Friend quest; becoming thane in Falkreath; beginning the building of Lakeview Manor; acquiring Hendraheim; and killing a whole passel of bandits.

(Yep, there’s a lot in this post! And a lot of language commentary, in particular.)

  • Harrowhark Playthrough,  Skyrim

In Which Harrowhark Does Contracts for the Brotherhood

And with this post, Harrowhark has officially begun work for her new associates of the Dark Brotherhood. So that was actually kind of fun in the shady-as-fuck being-an-assassin way. And I’ll be intrigued to see how the drama building internally to the Brotherhood plays through, particularly in conjunction with the additions from the Dark Brotherhood for Good Guys mod.

  • Harrowhark Playthrough,  Skyrim

In Which Harrowhark Gets Some Houses

This session picks up immediately where the last one left off, partway through Shroud Hearth Barrow. Action also featured: running Redoran’s Retreat to retrieve Amren’s sword, doing the In My Time of Need plot, getting silver armor for Lydia, getting the Hedge Mage Armor for me, and last but not least, acquiring both Hendraheim and Breezehome.

  • Harrowhark Playthrough,  Skyrim

In Which Harrowhark Goes to Shroud Hearth Barrow

And, back around to the modded playthrough, starring Harrowhark the Imperial! Main action in this session: heading off to Ivarstead and beginning a run through Shroud Hearth Barrow, accompanied by Lydia and Vilja.

This post is more commentary than action, though. Mostly about the in-character ramifications of a particular conversation between Vilja and Lydia, and also my dissatisfaction with how Vilja seems way, way too preoccupied with her weight for a character who’s supposed to be a Nord.

  • Shenner Playthrough

In Which Shenner Becomes Arch-Mage of the College of Winterhold

This session saw the running of Labyrinthian to get the Staff of Magnus, and the immediate followup of the finale at the college, where yet again I have become Arch-Mage!

I also retrieved the Headman’s Cleaver from the bandits at Lost Knife Hideout, and got in the usual assortment of dragon fighting and crafting. Featuring unlocking Madness smithing finally, which let me start making weapons with the stuff!
